University Overview The Wireless Data University was created in 1995 as a wireless tutorial to precede the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association’s (CTIA) conferences. The success of the first tutorial led to a formal endorsement with CTIA. Since then, Wireless Data University tutorials have been held in conjunction with CTIA, prior to both of its annual conferences: CTIA’s Wireless Conference and CTIA's Wireless I.T. conferences. The Wireless Data University has two distinct segments — morning tracks and afternoon round tables and/or panel sessions. The attendees choose one of three morning tracks: The Basics of Wireless Data Communications; Forget Sisyphus; Think Athena: How to Operate Wireless Data Businesses Smart and Profitably Under Difficult Conditions; or Wireless Networks, Applications and Services The afternoon session consists of panel discussions. The panel topics as well as the panelists are different for each WDU. Each of the panels is topical and up-to-date. Examples of previous panels include Gizmo's and Gadgets: What's Hot and What's coming; How to Make Money with Wireless Data: Data Speeds, What's Real and What Can You Expect this Year?; Bluetooth, How will it change our World. Wireless Data University’s curriculum is updated for each show to include discussions of new developments in the wireless industry. The round tables and panels include people who are well known in the industry and have reputable backgrounds in the industry. Wireless Data University is oriented toward people from marketing, information services, end-users, and new to moderately seasoned industry personnel. The conference will give you a good foundation of information for the wireless industry and will prepare you to hit the floor running at CTIA’s conference. |
